A Cigar Reserve Cognac aged for at least 10 years
As you have probably noticed, Hine has a certain affinity to cigars - and the Hine Cognac XO Cigar Reserve is one of its most robust bottles. A deep, rich and spicy Reserve Cognac that was crafted by Bernard Hine in collaboration with Nicholas Freeman of the cigar purveyors, Hunter and Frankau. In combining their savoir-faire, they have produced a fine bodied blend.
This Cognac is strong like a Havana, yet incredibly balanced. It is a blend of more than 25 different eaux-de-vie, ranging from four of the premium growing areas: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois. The spirits come together to produce aromas that are perfect for enjoying alongside a cigar.
As an XO standard Cognac, it has been matured for at least 10 years in oak barrels in the Jarnac cellar of Hine Cognac. How to enjoy This well-balanced Cognac pairs perfectly with a Havana cigar, but is equally subtle enough to be enjoyed neat.
Eye: Deep amber tones - a sign of aromatic complexity.
Nose: We notice some tobacco notes, sweet fruit, well balanced - on the nose. Wood and cinnamon enlighten the nose.
Palate: The palate is round and long, some slight spices hidden here and there. Flavors of honey and walnut come through.
