This French single malt whisky has a unique, fresh and vegetal aromatic profile, the result of an experimental double ageing process, first in American oak casks that previously contained cognac, then in French oak casks that previously contained aquavit, a Scandinavian spirit made from aromatic plants.
Ageing : “American oak” cognac barrel, then oak barrel that contained aquavit spirit
Nose
Aquavit BGW Whisky evokes lemon verbena, the freshness and lightness of citrus fruits, white pepper & fennel on the nose.
Palate
On the palate we find fresh malt, it is harmonious and tasty, with notes of angelica flower and tarragon.
A successful marriage of bitterness and the freshness of plants, all in lightness and finesse. A warmth persists in the mouth after long minutes.
